Dean bashes McCain

ABC News: McCain's Comments on Rumsfeld Miss the Mark: "John McCain is hitting the campaign trail, and he's doing so with a predictable thud.

On Monday, the ever-eager-to-settle-a-score senator appeared in South Carolina and pronounced Donald Rumsfeld one of the worst defense secretaries ever. He went on to elaborate, 'We are paying a very heavy price for the mismanagement — that's the kindest word I can give you — of Donald Rumsfeld, of this war. The price is very, very heavy, and I regret it enormously.'"

heh heh heh...

After reconsidering, John McCain IS scum. Always reliable to throw anyone under a bus and take a swipe if it makes John McCain look better, or if he thinks it does.

As I have mentioned, I can't imagine voting for John McCain. I just don't trust him.

McCain is Scum

McCain slams Bush on global warming, Iraq policy - Los Angeles Times: "'I would assess this administration's record on global warming as terrible,' McCain said, recalling that he got 'no cooperation from the administration' at Senate hearings on the subject. He pronounced himself 'very happy to see the president mention global warming and a renewed commitment from the administration to this issue.' But he added tartly: 'It's long overdue.'"

I don't really think John McCain is scum, but I can hardly see many scenarios in which I cast a vote for a Senator from Arizona, unless Kyl jumps into the fray. I am one of those who find John McCain's "populism" irritating and disingenuous. I also find his "maverick" status to be nothing more than self-promoting BS. I know John McCain is a fine American and a war hero but I just don't trust him. At least I know how bad Hillary would be and can see Obama taking us through the Carter years again. I just don't trust that John McCain would do anything but promote John McCain as President. Is this unfair? Absolutely! John McCain just makes my skin crawl; it's not entirely logical. It's kind of like why I hate the California/LA/Anaheim Angels. I mean, who has strong feelings about the Angel, either way?!?

More Conservative Discontent

From Sound Politics

You think the 2008 national wipe out of Republicans is going to be brutal, check the 2008 election results in Washington State. It's going to be worse. Considering there are not many Republicans left after Nov-06, This will rival Massachusetts or Connecticut as the most Blue state. Washington State Republicans don't deserve election. Not that Democrats do either.

Coleman Amendment

News Story

Want to know why Conservatives stay home in 2008. It won't even matter if Hillary is the nominee for president, we will be as apathetic to support these turkeys as we can possibly be.

The NRSC Pledge

The NRSC Pledge

I don't need to sign this to support it and live by it, but I likely will.

Lileks on 9/11

"9/11 reset the clock for me. All hands went to midnight. I’m interested in what people did after that date, and if the movie shows that before the attack one side lacked feck and the other was feck-deficient, I don't worry about it. "

I won't watch the movie either but that is besides the point. As we move into the mid-term elections and then into the '08 primaries, I really don't know who to favor or even consider supporting. I can't imagine voting for McCain but I have similar feelings about the other candidates too. I will have to be convinced to even vote in my state races. The GOP has proven to be worthless in Washington State, whether RINOs or Ellen Craswell types. Wathcing Bush flounder hasn't really amped me up either. I suspect I will vote the ticket and in the primary go with... I don't know.

Time Off

I recently finished a job.

Not a project, but an actual job. For the past, almost, seven years I worked at Nextel Partners. When our company sold to Sprint I knew my job would likely go away. Now it has, mercifully so. So I am taking some time off. Most people think this will be a month long sabbatical but don’t be surprised if it goes to eight weeks. If I start in November, great.

In the meantime I am building a deck, having a great time spending time with my family, going to concerts and catching up with people. Hopefully I can get used to posting.
